In a moment of personal triumph, a beautiful, young piano virtuoso's neatly structured life is suddenly thrown into chaos by a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Then, years later, haunted by the feeling that she chose neither wisely nor too well, she finds herself again at the same crossroads - and again has to make a heartbreaking decision about her career and her lover. Set in the concert halls, hotel suites and restaurants that make up the world of elite classical musicians and their patrons.
