Synopsis:
When a cobbler can neither find work nor get a passport because of his criminal record, he takes over a city under martial law. His masquerade as a Captain is successful enough for him to steal papers. Based on the novel and play by Carl Zuckmayer and Albrecht Joseph, "Der Hauptmann van Kopenick."
