Ron Howard, director of SPLASH, COCOON, and PARENTHOOD, makes a marked change of pace with this stunning action-drama. Ostensibly it is about Stephen and Brian McCaffrey, two fire-fighters struggling to carry on the legacy of their heroic father and to come to terms with his tragic death. But it is also a story of fire itself - not the clean burning yellow flames that we are used to seeing in movies - but the terrifying, powerful, dangerous, all consuming real fire that men like the McCaffreys must face every day. Gripping, exciting and a technical miracle, this is an action film with a pronounced difference.
